The week then culminated in our annual Airband Lip-Sync Competition, held at Miller Auditorium on 4/11. There, we concluded the week-long event, and crowned team 80s as both the Airband Champion, and the Greek Week champion! Earning them three incredible trophies! But this week-long event would not have been possible without the support of numerous sponsors local to the Kalamazoo area, such as: Big Burrito, Maple Hill Automotives, Revel N’ Roll, Hou Jia, Ridgeview Golf Course, and Monster Energy!
But more importantly, this Greek Week was dedicated towards Children Trust Michigan, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse, child neglect, and familial struggles since 1982. They have served families and children through providing safety education, financial resources, infancy support, and medical care for the afflicted. We also utilized this week to support the Montgomery Essential Needs Services, the on-campus support system acting as a lifeline for any Bronco in need through providing food, personal care items, emergency financial assistance, and any essential resource to help all Broncos succeed.
From this Greek Week, we have been able to raise $35,946 for the Children Trust Michigan organization, as well as 13,045 canned food/noodle packets for the Montgomery Essential Needs Services. We have now raised the highest amount of donations in the recorded history of Greek Week at WMU, and are extremely proud of the entire Greek community for coming together in support of the local Michigan community!
